Timber Butte Lookout is about 20 miles from Lowell, Oregon and sits at 3650 feet elevation. This Willamette National Forest lookout features a picturesque little cabin that is at ground level. We were able to drive to within several hundred feet below the lookout and park at near the vault toilet.

The warm days promoted more lounging about and reading than hiking.

  1. Hey! We really enjoyed your pictures on the TB Cabin! Was wondering if you had any info or recommendations for travel to this cabin. We drive a small compact car and are wondering if the roads leading to the cabin are suitable for this type. Please let me know if you have any info or suggestions, thanks!

    • Thanks! We really liked this little cabin. The roads in (at least when we were there) were well maintained. The last section, from the gate to the cabin parking area had some taller weed/grass growth in the center, but no big rocks or ruts. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble.
